The Top 5 Businesses in the World
There’s a lot that goes into running a massively successful international business. It takes resources, talent, vision, public recognition, a reliable workforce, and even quality business insurance. Studying the most successful businesses on the planet is one way that businesses just getting started can learn how to tap into that same kind of success. Here is a list of the top five businesses on the planet.
1. Apple
Once, this company only produced personal computers. While they were quality PCs, they were simply that. At that point in time, Apple was only one part of a larger and very competitive market. A lot has changed since then. Apple has managed catapult itself into a digital media phenomenon sheerly through the force of its innovation. Whether it has been iPods, iPhones, or iPads, Apple has changed how people use electronics, the internet, and digital media forever.
2. Ford Motor Company
While other American automakers, specifically GM and Chrysler, faced serious peril in recent years, Ford’s position remained stable and profitable. While the other two of the big three have made significant rebounds, it should be noted that Ford was never really in any trouble in the first place. This is due partly to Ford’s remarkable success in exporting the company’s vehicles to foreign nations. Ford’s investments in fuel efficient vehicles and smaller models has also given the company an edge over its competitors.
3. General Electric
General Electric’s inclusion in this list may come as no big surprise. In fact, that would be the case now and it would have probably been the case a hundred years ago as well. It still remains one of the most profitable and largest companies in the world. While a lot of its success is due to the fact that entering the market for providing power to large swaths of geography isn’t exactly easy, GE has managed to diversify its business holdings into many other alternative power sources and business ventures as well. Due to this, its position has probably been solidfied for another hundred years.
4. Facebook
The amazing thing about Facebook is that it has become a financial phenomenon by providing a service that at one time people did not even need. It’s true. At one point in history, “social networking” media platforms did not exist. However, Facebook helped change that. Over the past decade, it also destroyed its competition to the point Facebook seems like a regular part of everyone’s daily lives.
5. Subway
There are now more Subways than there are McDoonald’s in the world. This at one time was an unimaginable feat. Even more stunning is the fact that Subway’s rapid expansion was in part based on marketing deli sandwiches that are much more healthy for you than anything that has probably ever come out of McDonald’s.
